About “Work In Progress”

Enter Casper Braat’s workshop. Here, a classic Porsche 911 is in the process of being recreated in marble, piece-by-piece, from the massive enginge block all the way to the wheel bolts. ‘Work in Progress’ is an installation replicating Casper’s marble carving atelier. Presented in this dusty white space are sculptures in various stages of completion, where finished and unfinished works are each deliberate creations. The line between art objects and the tools we use to create art is actively blurred, resulting in works that highlight upon craftsmanship and labour, with the allure of artistic process in action.
